So let me ask you the question—”Beside the call of God on your life, why are you in ministry? Is it for ‘power and control’ needs; ‘identity needs’ or ‘intimacy needs’? Honestly, how would you answer this question? If we can begin to answer this question we may be freer to listen to the conversations of our friends and colleagues in helping us to move towards a missional leadership style which will cultivate our people into understanding what God has for his church in your neighborhood.
